TAP is but one division of
The Chilcote Company, an Employee Owned
Cleveland, Ohio company that has served the photo industry since 1906. The Taprell Loomis name originated with
a mount manufacturing operation begun in 1899 in Chicago and was acquired by The Chilcote Company in 1955. Since
that time, TAP has emphasized innovative design while satisfying the photo packaging needs of professional
photographers.
The Chilcote family has also expanded to include other companies that manufacture products for the
photo industry and provide products and services for the graphic arts industry:
-
Graphic Imaginations offers high-speed foil stamping, embossing, die cutting and other services to
the printing industry as well as manufacturing custom loose-leaf binders, media packaging, slipcases
and presentation folders.
-

located in Lewis Center, Ohio.

All of these businesses are proud to be part of The Chilcote Company, which became employee owned
in 1984 through an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). The Chilcote Company is committed to progress
in both management and manufacturing techniques and in encouraging the growth of the company to the
benefit of our local communities and employee-owners. In 2001, we were named one of the Weatherhead
100 fastest growing companies in Northeast Ohio and in 2004, we were selected ESOP Company of the Year
at the National ESOP Association Conference in Washington, DC. The Chilcote Company plans to carry
this legacy of quality, innovation and growth into the 21st century.
